In July of this year, Dr. Ming Wang was awarded the annual Nashvillian of the Year Award from the Kiwanis Club of Nashville. Watch video of his acceptance speech below. The Kiwanis Club is dedicated to helping the children of the world and has over 660,000 members. During his acceptance speech, Dr. Ming Wang discussed how we can keep faith in God when our prayers go unanswered.
Dr. Ming Wang ensures that when our prayers are not answered right away, that God is staying silent for a reason. This silence can help us become stronger and help us face the adversities in our lives while strengthening our relationship with the Lord. Dr. Ming Wang’s many struggles from growing up in Communist China to moving to the US with just a few dollars in his pocket, motivate him to continue helping those around him with his groundbreaking research on ophthalmology and many philanthropic efforts.
Dr. Ming Wang particularly strives to help young children to regain their sight, believing that sight is one of the most precious gifts we can receive. While striving to help children in the community and around the world, Dr. Ming Wang has performed countless free surgeries to children in need, free-of-charge. The Wang Foundation works towards making the world a better place for our children one surgery at a time. Dr. Ming Wang truly fits the mold of the Kiwanis Nashvillian of the Year.
And if you’ve ever considered LASIK eye surgery for yourself or if you have a family member or friend who is thinking about, Dr. Ming Wang will host a free vision seminar Thurs, Dec 8th at the Embassy Suites, located at 1811 Broadway in Nashville, in which he will answer all the questions you have about LASIK. The seminar begins at 6:30pm.
